This seven day trip will take you to experience Cusco close up before heading to the Sacred Valley and Machu Picchu.
You will enter the most important sites of the ancient Inca cultural heritage.

DAY 1: Lima
You will be checked into one of Lima’s most beautiful and luxurious hotels, with the Pacific Ocean only a stone’s throw away.
This great cultural city, is known for its many museums, galleries and archaeological sites, as well as festivals, cutting-edge cuisine and colourful markets. We are happy to put together just the right itinerary for you to visit, that is if you don’t want to relax by the pool side and enjoy the sun.
DAY 2-3: Cusco
You travel by plane to the historic city of Cusco and enjoy an afternoon sightseeing tour with Jorge Escobar Medrano, Cusco Cathedral Curator and Chair Professor of History at the local university. Then settle in for a luxurious night at one of Cusco’s most prestigious hotels.
After a good night’s sleep, we venture to visit Tambomachay, an ancient Inca religious site, as well as the remains of Qenqo, a labyrinth of staircases and channels carved into a rocky hilltop.
Continue on to the formidable Inca fortress of Sacsayhuaman, with its wonderful panoramic view of Cusco.
Lunch today is at the innovative MAP Café at the Pre-Columbian Art Museum, where you can enjoy the institution’s excellent displays.
For the remainder of the day, we leave you to explore the streets of Cusco, dominated by dramatic Inca walls.
DAY 4: Sacred Valley
Today we spend the full day on a tour of the Sacred Valley of the Incas.
After breakfast, we travel to Chinchero, and visit the textile workshop of Nilda Callañaupa. Here you can discover traditional weaving techniques and the role of textiles in contemporary Andean culture. After this, we continue to enjoy a delicious lunch and take part in a shaman ceremony beside the river.
In the afternoon we leave you with two options:
OPTION 1: OLLANTAYTAMBO Climb the steep stone steps to admire the view down the valley and the huge, pink-granite monoliths that form the Temple of the Sun.
OPTION 2: FOR SHOPPERS Shop for world-class pottery at the Pablo Seminario workshop in the town of Urubamba.
At the end of the day, we return the beautiful hotel in Cusco.
DAY 5: Machu Picchu
There is no better way to arrive to Machu Picchu, than on the 1920s style luxury train, named after the man who first discovered the ancient holy citadel.
You will explore Machu Picchu in unrivalled depth with your host, Alfredo Mormontoy Atayupanqui, the site’s former resident archaeologist.
The night will be spend in the exclusive Belmond Sanctuary Lodge, located right beside the citadel.
DAY 6: Cusco
We highly recommend rising early to enjoy a walk throug Machu Picchu at sunrise. It’s nothing short of magical.
The choose to take one of two hikes withyour guide. Alternatively relax an continue exploring the magnificent citadel on your own.
In the lte afternoon, we return to Cusco aboard the train that will take you back in time to the great explorers or make you feel like the main character of an Agatha Christie novel.
DAY 7: Lima
Time to go back to Lima. Upon your arrival, we will arrange for transfer to the airport for your international flight. Unless of course, you decide to prolong your stay and relax in vibrant Lima. We are happy to make arrangements for you.
